Signalling to kids that things are going to happen

    Hey guys

    Just wanted to share this with you as it’s something that’s worked out great for me! My son has always been a bit of a nightmare when we need to get things done (get dressed, leave the house etc.) and it often resulted in my getting stressed about being late, which then resulted in meltdowns. Very counter productive.

    However, since he was about 3 I started “signalling” when things were going to happen. So instead of “You need to get your shoes on now”, using “You need to get your shoes on in 2 minutes”.

    This literally was a game changer! And I even got him setting the timers (Alexa, Siri etc.).

    So if you’re going through this too, try the timers!
